THE NEW PRESIDENT OF INDONESIA, MR. SJAFRUDDIN PRAWIRANEGARA

The world community, or even Indonesian people themselves may only know that there are 6 presidents of Indonesia that is, Ir. Sukarno, Suharto, B.J. Habibie, K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), Megawati Sukarnoputri, and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). But if historians and legal experts agreed that the leaders of PDRI (Emergency Government of the Republic of Indonesia) Mr. Sjafruddin Prawiranegara as the second President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) after the leadership of president Sukarno, and then the agreement is set forth in the legal decision, this country will have an additional presidents in its history.
The consideration of that statement is based on the history of Indonesia. At that time, December 19, 1948, Dutch military set up and aggression II by attacking and controlling the capital of the Republic of Indonesia in Yogyakarta, managing to catch and hold President Soekarno, Moh. Hatta and other Indonesian leaders, and then exiling them to the island of Bangka. To fill the power vacuum state, Mr. Sjafrudin Prawiranegara who served as Minister of Welfare then proposed that the emergency government should be formed to continue the government of Indonesia, or better known as the PDRI (Emergency Government of the Republic of Indonesia).
On December 22, 1948, in Halaban, Sumatra, with the support of other Indonesian leaders who did not get arrested by Dutch at that time, the Emergency Government was "proclaimed" and Mr. Sjafrudin Prawiranegara was determined as the chairman / president and also served as Minister of Defense, Information, and Foreign Affairs. That Emergency Government lasted for approximately eight months to continue the existence of the Republic of Indonesia. Eventually, Mr. Sjafruddin handed back his mandate to President Sukarno on July 13, 1949 in Yogyakarta.
Similarly, if the historical experts, lawyers, and the government have a special policy in 2010, Indonesia will have a new president, that is Mr. Sjafruddin Prawiranegara.
