A STRANGE PYTHON AND ANACONDA IN INDONESIA 2

Still remember the exciting news about a giant snake that swam in Baleh River, Sibu, Sarawak, northern of Borneo almost a year ago? A giant snake photo was reportedly taken from a helicopter, February 11, 2009 and had been circulated in some media such as local media of Sarawak, New Straits Times in Kuala Lumpur, and The Telegraph, UK. Even though If the photograph is original, whether the snake seen is a kind of python or anaconda is still a mystery?

In fact, until now it has not been found any anaconda in Borneo, except in the popular movie about Anaconda: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid. However, if the snake is a kind of python, meaning it was the biggest python seen so far.

Python snake has so much variety in Indonesia. Even some time ago, a unique python and perhaps the most bizarre in the world was found in Indramayu, West Java, Indonesia. This Python, whose black hair on the head with a length of about 15-20 cm, was first found by Ade Wahyudin, the man who lives in 04/RW RT 02, Lemahmekar, Indramayu who at that time with some of his friends went to the tourist area in Cibulan, Kuningan, West Java on Thursday, January 28, 2010 while on pilgrimage. The strange snake then was named as "Si Gondrong” or “The Hairy.” The length of this snake is about 3 meters.
Python is the biggest snake of Southeast Asia. Generally, Python lives in tropical forests, grass, tangled in trees, and occasionally in rivers. Note however that these giant reptiles are capable to swim between main lands, so the colonies become widespread in various islands. Python can eat much-bigger-size animals such as mammals, birds, mice, pigs, up to a calf.
