INDONESIAN PRODUCT: POLYTRON, THE WINNING THEME

World electronics market is increasingly dynamic. Various products colorize market competition, including POLYTRON. Hearing the brand of POLYTRON, maybe we think that it is from Japan. In fact, the brand of POLYTRON was born in Kudus, Central Java, Indonesia, which then penetrated the European market, ASEAN, Middle East, and Australia. POLYTRON is now the only Indonesian product that still survives in the international market, after a long struggle in teh national electronic industry.

According to the brand owner, POLYTRON comes from a combination of two words, ie POLY which means a lot, and TRON means elecTRONic. So, POLYTRON, which has a tag line "The Winning Theme" is defined as a collection (a lot) of electronic products, such as audio products, video, refrigerator, air temperature control machines (AC), and water pump. POLYTRON was born from the hands of Indonesian workers. This brand is now recognized to control 15 percent of market share of national electronic products for similar products.

Initially, the owner of PT Djarum cigarette factory founded a company called PT Indonesian Electronic & Engineering with a paid up capital of Rp 50 million, to produce electronic goods. At that time, many similar companies were born and had grown first. These challenges is a revolutionary step from a tobacco industry that expanded its business into the electronics industry.

In its early development, POLYTRON developed a television with components from Belgium. That was the first television product that they launched into the domestic market, Furthermore, the company began to establish research and development institutions which then made PT Hartono Istana Electronics (in 2000 changed its name to PT Hartono Istana Teknologi / HIT) create their own manufacturer of the product design. HIT then successfully developed efficient technologies (40 watts) for color TV 17, 20 and 26 inches which made the brand more widely known.

The good quality of POLYRON makes this product become a pride of the Indonesian community. Even when the electronics products of China’s enter Indonesian market, POLYTRON is still able to show its existence as high-quality products with good after sales service.
